About the Artist
Born in the year 2000, Ren D’Angelo has been a lifelong artist. He specializes in gouache paint, but also uses acrylic paint, oil paint, color pencil, watercolor paint, alcohol markers, digital mediums, and more. Ren started out as a character artist using traditional and digital mediums. Today, although he still draws characters, he primarily paints landscapes and pet portraits. He has also experimented with many other styles and subjects, including cars, abstract design, and graphic design. Ren enjoys painting en plein air in Ojai and the surrounding areas and creates 3D projects as well, including clay face stuffed animals and sewing projects.
Ren studied at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles for a brief semester where he learnt many artistic fundamentals. He has taken figure study classes and workshops, classes at Computer Graphics Master Academy (CGMA), independent online courses, and personal lessons from local artists.
